I got a lemon law attorney for my car. The attorney said that it looks like I will receive a cash settlement with the problems I have had with the car. What does that mean. And is this good? My child’s father got a cash settlement in a civil suit from an accident on his job.
I didn’t ask the question the right way. He got a settlement amounting to several million dollars. As part of the settlement he requested an extra amount to provide for his/our child’s future in the amount of 80K. She will be 18 this year and it has come to light that he has spent the money!! His mother is currently on social security disability, and she is worried that if the check is cashed in her name, it will effect her medicare benefits. She fell in a school and is now receiving a settlement payment for her injury. I’m not sure if this is a good idea, since I fear he may have to pay taxes on the sum if it is cashed in his name. Was hit from behing on freeway exit by a car going about 35 – 40 mph while i was stopped at the light. My Dr. has diagnoed cervical and lower back whiplash. Dr. rated me as 23% PPI rating . He said 5% hand 5% uppper body and 3% whoel body. what does all this mean when when it come to a settlement to make sure you are given a fair settlement? I am confused.

Want to keep medical open but have heard that they will always say it is a new injury and workmans comp. won’t pay it anyway. We will get a cash settlement too, but going this route takes a lot longer than just taking a cash settlement only. Have tried to get information from lawyers and doctors and they don’t give much advise. Has anyone gone throught this before and can say what is the best way to go?
