Can I accept accept a settlement from an insurance co. and sue the person responible for the rest?
Should I accept this car accident settlement?
Last November I was rear-ended sitting at a stop sign and pushed into the car ahead of me (I was 0% responsible). Air bags deployed, seat broken, and the car was totaled. I was wearing my seatbelt and suffered lower back pain and whiplash. It took 1 visit to doctor some meds and 6 visits to the chiro and treatment as far as I know is complete. I don’t want to get a lawyer, and I have read a bunch of other posts about lowball offers. I want to counter but don’t know for how much. They offered 500 dollars above medical costs for pain suffering and inconvenience. I missed work but had no lost wages. I had a rental car for 2 weeks before I bought a beater. I am in my early 20’s and live in WI.

*Car has been taken care of settled for 10k which I think was fair.
*I am not being sued by the person I got pushed into.
*all expenses have been covered, I am dealing with future expenses of medical(deemed unnecessary at the time by my chiro) pain, suffering and inconvenience.
*Total payout including car is only at ~13k
Do you have to accept a car insurance settlement even if its bad?
Basically they offered 30% of medical and market value of the car.
The accident was caused when a car broke down on the freeway, two cars ahead stopped, my car stopped but the car behind didnt and crashed into my car which pushed it into 2 cars ahead.
So it involves 4 cars. Police report shows he was 100% at fault.
So would it be better to accept the settlement or sue them knowing it can take 2 years and of course a slim chance I might lose?
Should I accept the first offer of a car accident settlement?
I didn’t know if lawyers always say take the first offer because it is easiest for them and too much work to negiotiate further.

What should a settlement agreement with collector look like, when they’ve agreed to accept monthly payments?
I recently spoke with a bill collector who agreed to waive interest on my charged off account, and accept low monthly payments on the principle amount of the loan only. I received a computer generated letter with the correct settlement amount, but it only says they expect my monthly payment on a specific date next month, but the letter does not expain that will be my first payment, or when my last payment will be due. What should a settlement agreement look like to insure everything is legitimate? Thanks
Can a bill collector sell a debt after they’ve agreed to accept monthly payments on a settlement amount?
Has anyone ever began monthly payments on a settlement agreement offered by a bill collector, and later the collector still took you to court for the full amount of the debt anyway? Or did the collector sell the debt to another collection office before your last payment date? Can they do this legally even if they’ve put it in writing?
