“A group of Chinese and Turkish evangelical Christians said they’ve uncovered remnants of Noah’s Ark on its legendary mountain resting place in Turkey.

Noah’s Ark Ministries International, a Hong Kong-based documentary outfit, said they’ve recovered wooden specimens from a structure on Mount Ararat in eastern Turkey that carbon dating proved the material was 4,800 years old, around the same time the ark is said to have been afloat.

“It’s not 100 percent that it’s Noah’s Ark, but we think it’s 99 percent that this is it,” said Yeung Wing-cheung, a Hong Kong documentary filmmaker and member of the 15-strong person’s team from Hong Kong and Turkey.

The structure have several compartments, some with wooden beams, which were believed to house animals, Mr. Yeung said.

The group of evangelical archaeologists ruled out an established human settlement on the grounds as none have been found in the vicinity, Mr. Yeung said.

Local Turkish officials will ask the central government in Ankara to apply for UNESCO World Heritage status so the site can be protected while a major archaeological dig is conducted, Mr Yeung added.

One of my relatives is a 75 year old retired MD and has
been approached by a group that says if he will take out
a 10milllion dollar life insurance policy on himself that they
will loan him the money to make the first 2 premium payments
and at the end of the 2nd year sell the insurance policy for
a profit and he will make 1.5 million dollars.

this just sounds too good to be true but the company says
that another retired doctor has already purchased his policy
and he gave them my relative’s name and that he was in

this solicitation came in the form of a phone call following

BMCR- I am talking about the land that was set aside that according to the UN resolutions (which were found to be legally binding) and mandates to be put aside for a Palestinian state. The international court ruled in a binding decision that these settlements are illegal and should be dismantiled…so it is Internation law.
BCMR-you did not prove anything…you still are yet to prove that they are legal. The United States as well as Prime Minister Olmert affirm they are illegal, and are also in violation of the implementation of the Peace Process…which very well goes toward your argument which you stated those settlements can remain until there is a peaceful agreement…now there is and they are still there….so by your arguments you also proved those settlements are illegal!
Also “They were there first” is not a valid argument. Yes hebrews were there first but does not give anyone the right to uproot communties that were also there legitimately for a long time too. If you believe in “they were there first” how come you are not advocating the return of land to indians….and give back the southwest back to mexico, and so on?

I was in an automobile accident in November 2006 which I was not at fault.I was hit head on by a driver running a stop sign.The next day I went to the Emergency room for shoulder pain.It was believed that I had whiplash and the pain would go away.The pain did not go away and about 2 weeks later I went back to the ER for a followup and I had Xrays done.After the Xrays an MRI was scheduled and the radiologist found that I had swollen bone marrow in my shoulder from the accident and osteoarthritis had quickly set in.Besides pain and pressure of my shoulder feeling like it was going to fall off, everytime I moved it grinded and was popping.I was sent to a bone/joint specialist and they recommended to excercise it by lifting weights to ease the pain. I went back 6 weeks later (today) for a followup and the pain has stopped but the popping/grinding has not.I will have the arthritis for the rest of my life.The insurance company wants to settle and I dont know a monetary $ value to tell them.
First of all the osteoarthritis WAS from the accident and I have proof from the radiologist that it was caused from “tramatic injury” aka the accident. I am only 22 I had no previous injuries or problems out of my shoulder. I even asked if it could have set in that fast after an accident and the radiologist and the specialist both agreed that it could even at my age. I just wanted an idea of a fair amount to ask for given my condition. I am not out looking for a get rich quick scam or anything.

this is regarding a recent question i asked about the Endowment –
the reason i ask is due to recently finding my Grans Policy, 11 years after her death. The policy was whole of life with profits and with a periodical endowment, she’d paid it for 30 years from 1966 to 1996 and it was fully paid up. According to the insurance company she was paying £2 per month over that period. The settlement figure they have quoted is £278! which seems ridiculously low.

A lone structure stood amidst the wasteland. It was fairly tall, maybe two heads high. The large walls were made out of some kind of sheet metal, probably formed from scraps found throughout the waste. The barrier swayed in the wind and it seemed the slightest touch would send it tumbling down. A tall rocky outcropping covered one side of the structure, protecting it from the wind and the burning sun for half of the day. Toward the top of the fortification hung a sign, slightly askew, which read “The Settlement” and under that, “All Survivors Welcome.”
Two men approached the Settlement. They were bundled from head to toe with scraps of cloth and clothing, though it wasn’t cold. They walked with purpose, but were noticeably slowed down by the exhaustion of the wasteland. One had a rifle slung across his back while the other one packed a revolver at his side. They both, however, looked to kill.
The man with the pistol hobbled toward the Settlement. They both walked with their heads toward the ground, covering themselves from the intense sunlight and wind. The man with the rifle’s face was very hardened and they had a large amount of bushy facial hair.
When they reached the structure, the man with the rifle slid the gun from his back and banged the butt against the entrance.
“Open this damn door or I’ll break it open!” the man shouted. With each strike it seemed the wall was going to crash down. The two backed up and waited.
Another man rose from the top of the wall; he seemed to be a guard standing on some sort of raised platform. He drew his rifle and pointed it toward the two men.
The guard spoke with a slight accent, “You two best be gettin’ out of here. We don’t want no trouble. You come any closer and I’ll shoot.” The man with the rifle took a step forward, edging on the guard. The guard raised his rifle to his face and continued, “I’m warning you.” He was getting nervous and a trickle of sweat dripped down his brow. “I-I’ll do it. I swear, I’ll do it!”
“Ha ha ha,” the man with the rifle laughed. He nudged his partner and continued laughing, “He thinks he’ll shoot us?” They both started chuckling at that point. “The poor fool. He doesn’t have the balls to shoot us.” The man grabbed his pants near the zipper and continued to laugh.
The other man broke in, “He he, yeah! I’ll bet he doesn’t even have any ammo loaded in that rifle!”
The guard became even more unnerved. He lowered his gun for a second or two and flashed a look of fear. He raised it back up and tried to look just as threatening as before, but the two men saw right through it. They stepped up further toward the gate.
The man with the rifle raised his gun and pointed it at the guard. He lowered his voice and threatened, “Open…the door…”
The guard swallowed hard and stuttered, “I-I’m af-fraid I-I c-c-can’t do that, S-Sir.”
The man with the rifle looked at his partner. “Well then. I guess we’ll have to do something about that.” He looked back at his gun and aimed toward the guard. He pulled the trigger. The shot crashed through the thin air and echoed through the emptiness for a few seconds. The man missed, on purpose.
Another man walked up the platform and grabbed the guard. He swung him around and shouted, “Are you crazy?!” and pushed him back down. He walked back over to the platform and looked at the two men.
The man with the rifle laughed and bawled, “Well, well, well, if it isn’t our old friend Jack Bennett.”
Jack glared at the two men and replied, “Hello Ted and Ivan. Let’s not get too crazy now. I’ll open the gate and we can talk this out.”
“Now there’s a man with some sense,” the two men chuckled.
A large crash was heard and a harsh creaking sound emanated from the gate. The wall slowly began to slide open, giving way to a small neighborhood. The walls of the settlement were lined with houses, there were probably about 10 or 12 in all. Where the cliff finished one side of the Settlement, there was a large partially destroyed structure which had the word “Storage” written sloppily over “Library.” In the middle of the neighborhood stood another makeshift building with a sign hanging from it labeled “Meetings.”
At the entrance a crowd was beginning to form. What few people there were in this ‘town’ were coming out to see what all the noise was. There were people of various appearance ranging from young adult to old, men and women. They all had worried looks on their faces. One thing was apparent, there were no children; not even anyone who looked younger than twenty.
Jack took a step toward the two men. He too was wrapped in bundles of clothing, as was everyone else in the Settlement. He had a friendly face, but was

With each word Jack progressed through in his speech, Ivan’s face became more and more red, his face becoming more and more dark. “Later…?” he rumbled, “LATER?! Dammit Jack we’ve let you off three times. Three fucking times! Don’t give me that bullshit! There is food to be found, and you will give it to us!”
Ivan raised his rifle and shot
at the sky. The people in the crowd shuttered, but continued to watch, stunned. “We have asked you nicely and you continue to put us off. There will have to be repercussions.”
A woman stepped forward from the mass and begged, “Sir please. There isn’t any food! Please don’t do this to us. Please!”
Ivan walked up to the woman and smacked her hard across the face. The crowd was silent. Ivan turned back around and confronted Jack, shaking his finger in Jack’s face as he spoke. “You’ll bring me food by tomorrow. Until then, you suffer the consequences of your actions.”
Jack grabbed Ivan by the arm. Ted drew his pistol and aimed it at Jack. Jack continued, “Ivan please…look at us. We can’t do anything for you. Do as you might with me, but please don’t make my people suffer.”
Ivan shook Jack’s grip from his arm. He looked him in the face and stared him down. “I’m sorry too now Jack. But you are in direct violation of our agreement. If there aren’t any rules, everything would be in chaos
“Take a look around!” Jack exclaimed, “What agreement? What rules? Is this not chaos to you! Your friend has a gun pointed at my face and I haven’t done anything wrong! You and your…your Soldiers came here and threatened us to give you food. The agreement was that we give you food and you don’t exterminate us. Well if we give you all of our food, we would be doing the same thing to ourselves! Go back to your leader and tell him we just can’t do it!”
Ted replied, “Do you think it is just that easy? We have come here each time with a mission, and that was to retrieve food from you. Each time we return without it, we have to pay the price! Well we are through having to suffer because of you.”
Ted grabbed Ivan and told him they needed to go. Ivan continued to stare Jack down and then spat in his face. Ivan looked back at Jack and whispered in his ear, “You’ll be sorry…” The two proceeded to turn around and begin walking.
They both raised their guns and shouted, “Long live the Soldiers of War!”
Jack watched as they walked away. His eyes looked even more tired, or maybe it was now just sadness. He turned around and walked over to his wife, Ashley, the woman who had been smacked. “I’m sorry,” he said and tried to comfort her. They both began to cry and held on to each other. The mass stared and watched, continuing to keep quiet. It seemed they were all paralyzed by what had just happened.
When the two men were a fair distance away, Ivan shouted out, “We’re in a free for all. Live with it!”

Here’s chapter one to my book I’m writing. It’s set in a post-nuclear exchange wasteland. Bear with me I know it’s long. Just give me your opinion :0

Thank you to everyone who took the time to read my passage. I’m glad some of you liked it and some of you thought it was boring. I don’t expect this to be the most exciting chapter in my book, it’s mostly introduction. I am having a tooth implant. My insurance co. won’t pay a nickel for it. They say it is not a necessary procedure since there are alternatives even though I had to sign a statement with my dentist that included the clause ‘I understand this is a necessary procedure in my case because alternatives could jeopardize the health of my entire tooth structure.’ Then I noticed my dental insurance pays for preventative oral cancer screening. I asked their rep whether that was a necessary procedure since obviously it’s not, since it’s preventative. The rep gave me some b.s. answer. Then I said, “why don’t you just admit you won’t pay for the implant because it’s expensive?” The rep said, we don’t pay for dental implants because they are not covered in our policy.” Duh. That’s Illogic 101. Do insurance companies really think we are that stupid?

Leaking or worn out roofs
Structural problems such as foundation damage caused by settlement
Defective paint surfaces in homes built before 1978
Defective exterior paint on homes built after 1978 where finish is unprotected
A. TOPOGRAPHY

Proper topography and site grading can be important elements

in preventing wet basements, damp crawl spaces, erosion of

soils, and overflowing sewage disposal systems. To ensure

proper protection, the appraiser must analyze the

relationship of street grades, floor elevations, and lot

grades. If the foundation or its bearing soils may be

affected by seepage or frost, the dwelling is unacceptable

unless the surface and subsurface water is diverted from the

structures to ensure positive drainage away from the

foundation.

2. Hazards

The property must be free of all known hazards and

adverse conditions that:

o may affect the health and safety of the occupants

o may affect the structural soundness of the

improvements

o may impair the customary use and enjoyment of the

property

These hazards include toxic chemicals, radioactive

materials, other pollution, hazardous activities,

potential damage from soil or other differential ground

movements, ground water, inadequate surface drainage,

flood, erosion, excessive noise and other hazards on or

off site.

4. Drainage

The site must be graded to provide positive drainage

away from the perimeter walls of the dwelling and to

prevent standing water on the site. Signs of

inadequate draining include standing water proximate to

the structure and no mitigation measures such as

gutters or downspouts.

8. Defective Conditions

A property with defective conditions is unacceptable

until the defects or conditions have been remedied and

the probability of further damage eliminated.

Defective conditions include:

o defective construction

o poor workmanship

o evidence of continuing settlement

o excessive dampness

o leakage

o decay

o termites

o other readily observable conditions that impair

the safety, sanitation

The items outlined in VC-7: Structural Conditions, are

meant to alert the appraiser and the lender to the

possibility of defective conditions. These items are

readily identifiable characteristics that could

indicate one of the defective conditions.

Natural ventilation of structural space – such as

These are the FHA appraisal rules that I have looked up. This is a long story I don’t have the time to tell but I can prove they lied to me about a bunch of stuff.
The issues here are I have a flooding basement coming in from the foundation. I have seriously damaged plaster walls. I have broken unsafe cement oustide. I do not have gutters. My furnace vent pipe was red tagged my eletric is not up to code. (60 amps maxed out before I got here.) My hot water heater broke withiin 3 months dunno if i Can do anything about that. Therefore I have no hot water or heat. I had a room full of fiberglass pipes and two bats among other oddities from floor to ceiling in the basement when I got here. They did not show me this room when showing me the house and I didn’t see it bc of lighting in basement. There is evidence of continuing settlement as my doors don’t even shut because the doorways are so crooked and the floors as well. The wood is coming up in the kitchen underneath thetile.
